EQUAL PARTS: B.LOVE // MAYBE LAURA // HOUSE // ELECTRO // DISCO // TECHNO
Equal Parts returns to Grow this summer with a double serving of underground magic courtesy of B.Love and Maybe Laura.
ABOUT THE DJS
B.Love is known for his signature groove-driven productions that blend deep, off-kilter house with wiggly, fidgety electro. With his upward trajectory in the UK underground reflecting a commitment to this distinctive sound, the London-born artist has delivered two notable releases in 2025 already, appearing on Ralph Lawson's 20/20 Vision with 'Rhythm Freq', and ‘Music Dance Experience’, the first release on his own eponymous label, B.Love. In 2021, B.Love launched Bizarre Trax with collaborator Felon5, a label known for dropping ‘serious house firepower’ (RA). Dropping regular DJ sets at revered summer festivals Gottwood and Junction 2, we can’t wait for B.Love to take the reins for his Grow debut this August with an extended three hour set.
Supporting B.Love on the night is Maybe Laura, a selector that cut her teeth in London's best-loved pub, The Lion and Lamb. Known for her eclectic and expansive sets that encompass house, techno, disco, and wave, Maybe Laura has already cemented herself as a regular at Europe's premier festivals Houghton, Dimensions, and Field Maneuvers, and has recently appeared on The Lot Radio, NY. Maybe Laura takes charge of the 10pm to midnight slot.
On warm-up duty, Equal Parts stalwart and long-time resident fairground brings his unique downtempo, house-infused sound to the Grow terrace. After a memorable Equal Parts outing on the Grow terrace last summer together, fairground is joined once more by DJ and party starter arnie for a three-hour vinyl-only back-to-back that promises dance-ready sounds from across the house music spectrum. Hailing from the North East of England, arnie is a resident of DBT.UK, a crew that have been making serious waves throwing underground parties in Scotland and beyond since 2019. With a record bag spanning everything from deep house to disco, arnie has graced the decks at Gottwood festival and warmed up for Gene on Earth and Olga Karol among others. It is a pleasure to welcome this understated maestro back to Equal Parts.
First record 7 pm, last record 3 am.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Conceived in a warehouse just a stone’s throw from Main Yard, Equal Parts have been throwing parties exclusively at Grow four times a year without fail since 2018. Forged in the twilight of Hackney Wick’s warehouse heyday, Equal Parts set out with the humble intention of curating friendly, dance-focused parties that guarantee maximum aural and kinetic pleasure at Hackney Wick’s best-loved DIY venue. Staying true to these roots, seven years on, Equal Parts is now a bona fide Friday-night Grow stalwart, with their resident DJs lining up at recent parties alongside a roster of heavy weight and rising talent, from Wes Baggaley to Tia Cousins and John Gómez. For 2025, Equal Parts ensure top-tier selectors grace Hackney Wick’s best-loved dancefloor yet again, with two road-block dates lined up for Solero season book-ended by two resident-only parties including a Halloween spectacular in October. Expect boat party energy into the early hours with sounds spanning House, Disco, Techno, and everything in-between.

Basil Isaac (a.k.a. Basil Black II Basics) has been a fixture on the scene for over 35 years and a regular at Grow’s Soul On The Canal Side since 2017. A versatile musician and percussionist, he’s toured with Underworld and performed alongside Des’ree, Joyce Sims, Basement Jaxx, Peven Everett, Roachford, Masters at Work, Robert Owens and many more. Basil worked closely with the late Maxi Jazz (Faithless) for over two decades and continues to evolve his live DJ and percussion sets, playing festivals such as Glastonbury, Cross The Tracks and Electric Picnic. Always a crowd favourite at Soul On The Canal Side.
Simon Kurrage, one of West London’s original vinyl heads, has been collecting and spinning records since his school days in the early 90s. Cutting his teeth with organisations like World Dance and AWOL before co-founding the cult seven-inch night Size Doesn’t Matter, Simon has shared the decks with legends including Frankie Knuckles, Danny Krivit, Timmy Regisford, Tony Humphries and Norman Jay. Known for his fearless and playful approach to DJing, he keeps crowds moving with his infectious energy and crate-dug gems.
Harv-inder Singh (DJ Harv) began collecting records at 12 and set up his own sound system by 16. For 15 years he was at the heart of iconic record shop Honest Jon’s in Ladbroke Grove, curating compilations such as The Bombay Jazz Palace and DJing alongside Gilles Peterson, Carl Craig, Norman Jay, Terry Hall and Damon Albarn. His productions as part of We Are The Horsemen have featured on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, and he currently hosts The Feeling Good Show on Point Blank FM — hailed by the Observer’s Miranda Sawyer for its unique style and eclectic selections.
Mucho Soul began as a monthly Soho club night in 2001, founded by Alan Kenny Arscott (DJ A.K.A) and Ket Shah. Over the years, their soulful and eclectic vision has taken them to festivals and stages across Europe, including We Out Here, Latitude, Campfire, Amor Andalucia, Vocalbooth and Southern Soul. They launched their Soul On The Canal Side parties at Grow in 2017, which have since become a much-loved summer series bringing the very best in black-influenced dance music to Hackney Wick.

ABOUT THE EVENT
We’re honoured to welcome the legendary Mr Bongo DJs to Grow for a very special 4-hour extended DeepDig set. This one’s been a long time coming — we’ve been wanting to invite them for years. True tastemakers and world-class diggers, they’ve shaped the global music scene with their deep knowledge and impeccable selections.
Their journey began over 35 years ago, digging in Venezuela and stuffing suitcases with rare Latin records to bring back to Europe. Since then, they’ve tracked down forgotten gems in dusty basements, warehouses and street markets across South America, Africa, Asia, and beyond.
Launching as a Soho record shop in 1989, Mr Bongo was the UK’s first to stock independent US hip-hop on vinyl. Since then, they’ve become a vital force in surfacing classic and contemporary sounds from Brazil, Latin America, Africa, and the global underground — both as DJs and via their Brighton-based label.
With artists like Arthur Verocai, BADBADNOTGOOD, Rubel, Cymande, and Marcos Valle on the roster, the Mr Bongo label is trusted by heads around the world. Their DJ sets are soulful, high-energy, and full of surprises — spanning rare Brazilian grooves, deep disco cuts, modern soul, gospel, house and beyond.
Having played festivals and venues from Glastonbury to Mareh in Brazil, this is a rare chance to experience the full spectrum of the Mr Bongo sound in an intimate space. A real treat for DeepDig — and not one to miss.
Opening up our beautiful terrace, Liminal People (Alfie & Paloma) set the tone with their deep, soulful and psychedelic selections. Known for free-spirited sets that drift through obscure disco, ecstatic house and offbeat dancefloor gems, they’ve played venues like Corsica Studios and BBE Store, and shared lineups with the likes of Marcia Carr, Giles Smith, Darryn Jones and Charlie Dark. Regulars on London’s soulful scene, they also host a monthly show on The Boat Pod, spotlighting selectors they love. Music for open minds and curious feet.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
When Alessandro Corda and David met at the jam, they immediately realised they shared the same passion for music and had similar values. Alex, a versatile musician, DJ, and producer, and a regular at London’s jams and host of a couple, offered to work closely with David. Not only did he manage the stage, but he also contributed behind the scenes, taking the jam to the next level.

Whether you’re a keyboard virtuoso, a beatmaker, or a storyteller with a voice, this jam is for you. Bring your passion and your open mind. Let’s create music that transcends the ordinary and be part of the Not The Usual Jam and Grow musical community.
Our stage has hosted the tentative strumming of novice guitarists, the mesmerising loops of experienced producers, and the raw vocals of singers discovering their voices. From Charlie Stacey to Qoha or George The Poet, our stage has welcomed talented artists from various disciplines, including regulars: Alex Mike The Mic, Freddie Mpanga, Nico (MoorMoor), Conor Larkin, Matt Duduryn, Tom Caton, Richard Castle, Simon (Koyoka), and many others who come together to share their music experience, celebrate their progress, enhance growth, and enjoy each other - keeping eclecticism our flagship. The NTUJ session is a sandbox for sonic exploration, where David conducts, orchestrates, and brings people together. Here, musical boundaries dissolve, genres intertwine, and magic is born. MOSS.FM: MARA SIMPSON // AMBIENT // EXPERIMENTAL // FOLK
This July sees the launch of a brand-new event series from moss.fm in collaboration with Grow, Hackney. moss.fm is a non-profit promoter championing independent sounds and accessible spaces.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS AND DJS
Each night will be recorded live and released shortly after, these are events that are made to be repeated.
Kicking off the series is an intimate night curated and headlined by award-winning film composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performing artist Mara Simpson, celebrating the release of her new album Living Matter. Expect an evening of genre-blending sounds, thoughtful curation, and a dynamic atmosphere.
Mara Simpson creates vast textural soundscapes using digital and organic instrumentation symbiotically to create journeying ambient compositions. Mara uses her skills as an award winning multi-faceted composer to bring rich contrast to her work, seamlessly blending modular synthesisers and acoustic instruments whilst intertwining with flavours of tape delays, breathy vocals and her own field recordings to create the original sound of Mara Simpson.
Her latest album, Living Matter, explores folk-inspired compositions rooted in natural imagery, think layers of oak and turf, interlaced within the circuitry of arpeggiators. She brings her new release to Grow Hackney for what is certain to be a dynamic live show. Mara has gained notoriety across BBC Radio 6 Music as well as her numerous genre-defying musical works for TV series.
Joining Mara is…
Sm^sher, the moniker of artist and producer Imogen Mason. sm^sher's sonic world is impulsive, visceral and tapestried; weaving meditations on memory, grief, addiction, introversion and hope around industrial soundscape, fractured beats, drone-backed folk song and collage.
Louis Giannamore - by day, he is a session drummer, by night, an electronic and ambient composer and artist, creates grandiose and cinematic sound scapes using analog synths and field recordings. His sound design replicates that of an electric guitar or spaceship rather than synthesiser, with intention to create an auditory world that feels powerful and brooding.

CHARGE: GUILDHALL SCHOOL’S ELECTRONIC MUSIC SHOWCASE (FREE)
Two years after their first collaboration, Guildhall School returns to grassroots venue Grow for Charge, a summer showcase spotlighting students from the Electronic & Produced Music (EPM) department.
ABOUT THE EVENT
In line with Grow’s ethos of supporting the local music scene and giving a platform to emerging artists, this Charge showcase will see a new generation of talent coming through in a stellar line-up of bands, electronic music artists and DJs.
Mirroring Grow’s eclectic programming, the EPM department fosters talent in a wide range of genres. Come along for a night of original music journeying from alt-folk to experimental electronica.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Producer and performer Thorby crafts high-energy, genre-blurring dance music, fusing live electronics with analogue synthesisers. Joined by drummer Jonah Phillips, the duo improvises dynamic, ever-evolving sets that draw from club culture, experimental sound design, and live performance energy. With a focus on spontaneity and sonic intensity, Thorby’s live shows are unpredictable and euphoric.
Sibling duo Sister — made up of London-based Sonny and Sadie — blend nostalgic influences with a modern edge to create a sound that’s both raw and cinematic. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Genesis, ELO, and DJO, their music is marked by gritty guitar riffs, dark synth-driven melodies, and soaring choruses. Expect an emotionally charged, genre-melting set from one of the city’s most promising alt-pop newcomers.
A multi-instrumentalist, producer, and alternative-folk artist, James Józef weaves intimate, lyrically rich songs that explore vulnerability and introspection. Influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley, and Adrianne Lenker, his sound is both timeless and contemporary, built on poetic songwriting and delicate arrangements. Recently attracting the attention of Sony Music Publishing and Decca, James is a name to watch for fans of emotionally resonant, genre-crossing folk.
