An introduction to community organising workshop, with Beth Foster-Ogg of the Centre for Progressive Change
This introductory workshop will begin to explore the methodology of community organising - and is part of the Hello Again Hackney campaign, funded by Hackney Council. A ticket for this event will include a veggie/vegan meal

Over 2022, Grow, Hackney is hosting 10 workshops for Hackney residents to join makers, producers, musicians, artists and activists and participant in an introductory creative activity and enjoy a communal meal together.
This session is led by community organiser Beth Foster-Ogg who is part of the Centre of Progressive Change and will begin to explore the methodology of community organising and give you some of the skills to begin building power in your own community.
The workshop will last 1.5 hours followed by a vegan/veggie communal meal where you'll get a chance to to ask more questions to Beth and the Grow Team. You will not need to bring anything as materials will be provided.

Beth is a community organiser and trainer who has trained thousands of activists in how to campaign within their local community.
About The Centre of Progressive Change
The Centre for Progressive Change is a not-for-profit organisation that supports individuals and organisations to build strategic organising campaigns. CPC is currently running the Cleaners United campaign - a coalition of unions working collectively to fight for the rights of cleaners in the UK.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
You must live in Hackney and provide a Hackney postcode on booking
You must be over 18 years of age (please note: we operate a challenge 25 policy if you wish to buy alcohol)
You will get a free vegan/veggie meal as part of the workshop
You will be able to buy drinks as part of meal
Please check your email before leaving for this workshop in case there is a last-minute cancellation of the event
If you are unable to make it, please do let us know as early as possible as there is a waiting list.
These events are part of the Hello Again, Hackney campaign, a Hackney Council (LBH) Initiative which aims to encourage residents and visitors to rediscover their favourite venues, businesses and public spaces and help get the local economy back on its feet after the strain of the coronavirus
