The collective or rising Jazz, Spoken Word & Soul artists return after numerous hit shows with Grow since they started back in May 2022. Since then they have welcomed special guests such as Osquello, Natanya Popoola, Akin Soul as well as a plethora of talented London musicians.
As we get closer to spring and eventually summer the communal hub of Hackney Arts Ensemble continues to expand, developing on space for those who want to express themselves, stories and communities they are a part of.
The original co-founder AdamPD looks towards the growing public need for space within Hackney, taking a leaf out of the books of driven organisations like the Pembury Community Centre, Rising Tide, the Total Refreshment Centre, Orii Jam and more to help pave a way into the future that further uplifts the culture and creativity that is already abundant within the borough of Hackney and London in general.
HAE's in-house poet, lyricist and all round 'Queen B' of Hackney, Trisha Waku also takes a lead in the cultural style of Hackney. A young fiery commander of words never fails to connect with her growing audiences, leading by example of how to be creative, revolutionary and unapologetically artistic.
Harlan Ingram is the young lion of this unstoppable trio, heightening the air waves with bright groove and bumping kicks that keep the audience bopping as they soak up timeless moments.
The night will also feature a very special guest and good friend of the ensemble Liz Muntukaye. A talented song writer herself and all round warm host of many nights previously you'll be graced by her performance in March.
