NICOLAS MORTELMANS

Nicolas Mortelmans is multri-instrumentalist and fusion sitarist and student of Indian classical music from Antwerp, who has trained by world-famous Anoushka Shankar.Nicolas plays an electric sitar with which he tries to build a bridge between his recent love for Indian music and his roots in rock, jazz and electronica. His concerts are both meditative and explosive. In 2018, Nicolas played more than 120 concerts in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France, the Czech Republic, Nepal and India. Now, he joins as part of his 2024 tour in London.

Nicolas celebrates his MĀYĀ album release with WERF Records and is touring across Belgium and West Europe, before joining us at GROW to share music from his new release. The album is a mix of Indian traditional music with influences from the West. Approaching the instrument in unique ways, the album attempts to build bridges between Indian music and Western roots.

MTV TRIO Ft. Shivani Sen

A trio of musicians from different parts of the world, from different musical traditions and backgrounds met in a Hindustani Classical music class and have since exploded into the London music scene. Inspired by the sound of Shakti in Hindu philosophy and theology, the MTV Trio bring playfulness and high-level virtuosity to their style and performances blending together folk music from the subcontinent and Malay Archipelago with a contemporary, fresh London sound. Joined by special guest Shivani Sen on Hindustani vocals.

TOMMY KHOSLA

Khosla gained notable recognition with the release of their debut solo album, "Vignettes," a self-produced LP featured in Songlines Magazine and BBC Asian Network. Khosla's performances encompass a wide spectrum, from playing concerts with London Philharmonic Orchestra to grassroots performances including St Thomas' Hospital and educational settings like Oxford University.
