The Shedding Histories crew are back at Grow celebrating their 2nd birthday and the coming of spring, this time featuring incredible DJ and selector Poly-Ritmo

Known for her eclectic and genre bending sets, Poly-Ritmo has become a staple in the London underground scene playing percussive grooves from across the spectrum including jazz, Latin, zouk, Brazilica and funk from around the world. As a result, Poly-Ritmo has become a staple in the UK festival scene playing at spots like Glastonbury, Gala, We Out Here, Shambala, Lost Village and many more. On top of this, she is also the co-founder and creative director of the beautiful 'Basket of Light' festival, which has become known for its special musical and artistic approach. 

So come and join Poly-Ritmo and the Shedding Histories crew for a unique evening of sonic explorations on an open and welcoming dance floor at the magical Grow Hackney!

Girlz B Like is an event curated by Marcia Carr, a bonafide club legend, whose mixing and tune selection has taken her around the globe and led her to play peak time sets at We Out Here Festival, Cross the Tracks and get features in Mixmag.

Vandelay Radio is a non-profit community online radio station established in 2018 from a student bedroom in Swansea, Wales, currently based in Peckham, London via Bristol.

Broadcasting worldwide, Vandelay provides a platform for DJs, producers and anyone interested in music to have their sounds and thoughts shared to a global audience, regardless of where they are and most importantly, who they are.

The month of December serves as our last event for 2023: The Silver and Gold Christmas Soiree. You are invited to get glammed up in your glitziest attire to party till 3am, at the all women, all vinyl event Girlz B Like.

Girlz B Like is an event curated by Marcia Carr, a bonafide club legend, whose mixing and tune selection has taken her around the globe and led her to play peak time sets at We Out Here Festival, Cross the Tracks and get features in Mixmag.

From the North Sarah Sweeney makes her debut with a distinct brief that has her playing an old-school classic House set.  The second up of our guests is Sweet P who makes her first appearance in the DJ booth with an assortment of uptempo jams.  And lastly, after some years we welcome back Angel Mel who drops in from Bristol with a vinyl mash up brimming with old and new bullet tracks to get you up on to the dance floor.

After our roadblock launch of the Deepdig series with Saachi and the follow up with NTS resident DJ Martha, we return with DJ, broadcaster & author Haseeb Iqbal on Dec 9 for an extended set!

Haseeb promises to take us on a journey as likely to move through Cosmic Jazz as Pakistani cinema soundtracks Lovers Rock, or Latin Psych. Always deep with the selections, this effortless genre hopper knows how to fill a dancefloor with the unconventional.

Deepdig is a night curated by Grow, that brings some of our favourite DJs and producers to play the sets that they don’t usually get to play at bigger venues and festivals. Expect lengthy, no holds barred DJ sets in intimate settings, where they have free reign to take the crowd in whatever direction they like.

Previous guests for Deepdig in it’s current & past form include DJ Amir, Saachi, Martha, K15, Laani, My Analog Journal & Thristian.

For our final Good Music Club of 2023 (and maybe ever!) we close off a truly momentful year at Grow for a very early end of year celebration, with very special guests.

Returning to Grow is the very talented Grace. After making her debut at our previous Live From, we're excited to have her join to play her signature mix of Africa-centred dance music, with a focus on fun.

Will Silver also returns after a recent run of killer releases and features on Rinse FM, for a hard hitting injection of club music.

On hosting duties are the Vandelay Roster, supporting with selections across jazz, funk, disco and more.
