GROW BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL // ABDOULAYE SAMB, DJ SNUFF, MICHAEL SEBASTIAN & MORE // IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KOREV

We return with another Day & Night special made by possible by our house lager, Korev!

This edition features live music from our dear friend Abdoulaye Samb. His infectiously uplifting Senegalese Blues draws elements from the rich Fula tradition interwoven with Rumba, Mbalax, Afro-Latin and deep blues.

Abdoulaye began music by the beaches of his country, fabricating his own instrument from scratch, with fishing lines as strings. He has since gone onto tour festivals around Europe.

We’ll also have DJ Snuff closing out the night. Known for his live shows with artists as diverse as Roots Manuva, Congo Natty, Shingai (The Noisettes) and many more.

He promises to take us on a journey going anywhere from afrobeats, amapiano, bacardi, house, kuduro, bruk, 2step-garage, jungle and next surprises in the mix and blend. All forward driven bass heavy rhythms to excite the body and spirit.

Ahead of his upcoming headline show at Earth Hackney, live looper Michael Sebastian plays an improvised set on our pontoon during the afternoon.

Chanty74, long time Grow favourite, Chanty74 takes to our decks to join the dots between anything from psychedelic jazz to soul, hip hop, world music & house.

Dare Balogun (Vandelay Radio), originally from Nigeria, Dare Balogun is a DJ, producer and radio host with a strong passion for global dance music, playing a mix of highlife, soukous, fuji and wider styles from Sub-Saharan Africa alongside more familiar formats such as house, techno and jungle to challenge the current Euro-centric definition of dance music, and expose different forms to new audiences.

This event will be hosted by poetry slam winner, Zohab Zee Kahn!

GROW'S 9TH BIRTHDAY // PART 2 FEAT. WILLIAMS CUMBERBACHE’S LATIN ORCHESTRA & MARCIA CARR // IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KOREV
