On Sunday 26 February, we were thrilled to be joined by nonbinary transfeminine writer, entertainer, and performance artist, Alok Vaid-Menon for a night of poetry, comedy, and performance. On stage, we also welcomed Travis Alabanza & DJ Dae.

A Village Fete in Hackney Wick
Grow’s first ever Village Fete had workshops, games, stalls for all ages to celebrate being together and help raise funds for local charity, the Better Health Bakery, who help people recover from mental ill-health with training to become artisan bakers.

After what appeared an interminable lull, things are now happening fast at Grow. We have a temporary license for the weekend of 1st, 2nd and 3rd August 2014 where Heliocentrics land for an exclusive London date!
Stairway to Heaven?
Stairway to Heaven? Possibly not, but it’ll pretty good once it’s ready. Things are coming together. Our stairs that take you straight out to the canal are now almost finished.
Shedding Some Light On The Matter…
We realised it was time we had some lighting other than fluorescent strip lights. As electrics is one area where you can’t reuse that much (Health and Safety regs) other than the fittings, we went as simple as possible and industrial.
Building the bar!
The early beginnings of the founders building an ethical, sustainable enterprise and business model so we hope to have a functioning bar, kitchen & creative space some day!
Logo on a Post-It note
It’s May 2014 and we thought it’s time for our first logo so grabbed a pad of post-it notes and 5 seconds later, this if what we came up. Of course, it changed a few months later but we thought it was a good start!
