GROW’S EVENT CALENDAR

Grow is independent and grassroots with international impact. Local and emerging artists are programmed alongside international artists.

Since GROW opened our doors in 2014, we’ve hosted 250+ events each year and had over 150,000 people through our doors.

Young musicians have jammed with Abass Dodoo (Ginger Baker band), Japanese contemporary dancers and indigenous didgeridoo masters from Australia, to name just a few. Our artist partners credit the collaborations, regularity of exposure and payments as helping them hone their craft. Those for come to Grow for the entertainment, food and drink experience a span of genres and together we celebrate diverse culture from around the globe to down the road.

GIRLZ B LIKE // FUNK, DETROIT TECHNO, BROKEN BEAT, HOUSE // ALL VINYL

As part of International Women’s Day we welcome the return of a night run by Marcia Carr, a bonafide veteran that has more than 3 decades of experience DJing, whose mixes have graced BBC Radio 1 and Rinse FM, with appearances at Lovebox festival and Cross the Tracks plus many more over the years!

Girlz B Like is a night that champions female music producers, record label owners, recording artists, sound engineers and DJs, with a focus on vinyl selectors.

£5 after 9pm

Marcia DaVinylMC, Ms Soxee and Nikki Lucas: the Girlz B Like are back to party and bring you their all-vinyl selections on this big Saturday night out for you openminded admires of liquorice all sorts.

After a hiatus expanded by the events of the last two years the return of GBL has us thrilled to set things in motion with our first shindig just days ahead of International Women's Day 2022 at GROW, in Hackney Wick.

SuperSonic resident Nikki Lucas is set to spin an eclectic bag of Funky, Afrobeat, r&b Disco and House.
Adding an extra dose of grooviness Open Decks style, Miss Soxee makes a second guest appearance on the line up - her debut in 2016 caused much of an eruption.
Closing off the night Marcia DaVinylMC no doubt will delivery many vinyl bangers for a fierce finalé in a digital-free zone.

As the Creative Director and founder of this grassroots outfit, GBL has steadily carved out its own groove drawing loyal music discerners of quality Underground sounds: r&b Disco, Detroit techno, Boogie, funk, Gospel dance, Broken Beat, and other electronica rhythms and beats that club dancers also relish and appreciate.

The GBL objective is to highlight female selectors who take control of the music programming inside the DJ booth where guests Josey Rebelle, DJ Paulette, Katie Barber, Shy One, Miss Vaitea, Jaidene Veda, Nikki Lucas and DJ Dubois and more have already graced the decks and performed
