Grow is independent and grassroots with international impact. Local and emerging artists are programmed alongside international artists.

Since GROW opened our doors in 2014, we’ve hosted 250+ events each year and had over 150,000 people through our doors.

Young musicians have jammed with Abass Dodoo (Ginger Baker band), Japanese contemporary dancers and indigenous didgeridoo masters from Australia, to name just a few. Our artist partners credit the collaborations, regularity of exposure and payments as helping them hone their craft. Join us as we dive into the vibrant rhythms of Peruvian Cumbia, also known as Chicha. Brought to you by Ritmo del Barrio, the record label dedicated to reviving vintage Peruvian music, this unique event promises an unforgettable musical journey that celebrates Chicha!!

ABOUT THE EVENT

LAS CHANCHAS:

Las Chanchas are here to shake up the scene. Born in February 2025, this brand new project is on the mission to deliver energetic performances and push the boundaries of what is possible in music.

Challenging the traditional lineup and instrumentation of the genre, Las Chanchas bring a fresh take on chicha, the hypnotic tropical cumbia of the Amazon Rainforest. Their small-scale format preserves the full flavour and rich texture of the sound, proving that innovation can happen with fewer hands.

The influence of their diverse cultural and musical backgrounds pushes them to experiment without limits, fearlessly exploring new sonic landscapes. And this is only the beginning.

Las Chanchas are ready to give it their all, whatever it takes, to bring you the best show possible.

Lou Pino, Dj and Radio Host ( In The City / Rebel Disco / "fmr" Reel Rebels Radio ) skillfully navigates the realm of collecting and curating vinyl records. His sets will indulge your dance yearnings, ranging from Reggae to Latin, Tropical vibes & rhythms.

Independent record label based in London, UK, Ritmo del Barrio has been focused on the exploration of vintage Latin American music with special attention to Peruvian Cumbia, also known as Chicha.
Founded in 2021, RDB reissues feature Peruvian artists of the calibre of Cuarteto Universal, Los Shapis, Julio Mau y Los Imbatibles and Los Dexters de Uchiza; collaborating and working together with historical Peruvian labels like Discos Horóscopo, Music Shop Peru’ and Sono Radio.

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entry is free before 9 PM, Early Bird tickets are £5 and general admissions is £7. Pre-sale ticket entry is before 10 pm. Tickets on the door are £10 after 9 pm.

BOOKING A TABLE

There is no seating for the performance but you can book tables up until 8pm in other areas of the venue to enjoy food and drink and still enjoy the event in the main area. If you don’t book in advance, arriving early is recommended as tables are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Imperio Bamba

Imperio Bamba is a project born in North London, in 2016. They describe their sound as chichafrodelic, mixing chicha, afro-peruvian and psychedelic rhythms that emerge from their Latin American roots. Telling their stories through songs, immigrants’ stories, they try to create moments to feel in community, creating a home far away from home.

Imperio Bamba is a representation of Latin American music diversity, with members from the Cono Sur. Their performance is an electrifying experience, filled with energy and passion that will make the audience connect with each other in a musical journey. Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze)

Paskal is a music enthusiast and record collector of variegated music genres, with a main focus on the vintage sounds of the 60s and 70s from Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America. He also runs “Cool Breeze” is a music night focused on the vintage sounds of the American tropics travelling restlessly across the Caribbeans islands and the Latin American borders. A musical journey from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coasts, listening the pungent lyrics of the calypsonians from Panama and feeling the African inspired drums of the French Antilles, soaking the low frequencies of the Jamaican bass lines and dancing at the hypnotic melodies of the Mexican accordions... and beyond.

LOS MUSICOS
This dynamic Latin trio delivers a sound far beyond what you'd expect from three musicians. Colombian multi-percussionist Nickolai Rodriguez Cavanzo anchors the group’s rhythm, complemented by the acoustic and electric guitars of Guillermo Monroy and Juan Carlos Arenas. Their fresh take on classic Chicha, Cumbia, and other Latin genres is enriched by their original compositions. Their popular YouTube cover of “La Danza De Los Mirlos” has garnered over 90,000 views. In 2022, Los Musicos was commissioned by Celebrating Sanctuary Birmingham and Arts Council England to create a one-hour streaming experience.

Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze)
Paskal is a passionate music enthusiast and collector with a special focus on the vintage sounds of the 60s and 70s, from Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He also curates Cool Breeze, a night dedicated to the rich musical heritage of the American tropics. Expect an eclectic mix, travelling from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coasts, through the Caribbean islands and beyond – from the sharp lyrics of Panamanian calypsonians to the African-inspired drums of the French Antilles, all set against the deep basslines of Jamaica and the hypnotic melodies of Mexican accordions.

MANZANA TROPICAL (LIVE)

They’re an exciting new Latin act from London playing the form of Peruvian Cumbia known as Chicha. Having been brought up immersed in London's thriving Latin American musical community. Young musicians Manuy and Cleyder Figueroa began the project inspired by the heritage of their motherland in Peru.

Their music incorporates a homage to classic Peruvian acts including Grupo Nectar, Los Pakines and Chacalon as well as Latin legends such as Santana combined with a strong London sensibility.

Manzana's live set comprises some reinterpretations of Chicha classics and some original songs.

Lokandes are fronted by whirldwind musical maestro Kanti Qena and related their name to the combination of two words: 'Crazy' and 'Andes' which represents the intention of their music: Crazy music from the Andes. The project aims to create alternative music, taking the melodies and energy of Andean music and bringing it up to date; creating a fusion of traditional roots and Afro-Andean rhythms with other contemporary genres such as Reggae, Cumbia, Ska, Jazz, Son, Rumba Folk and funky Latin rhythms.


They unite musicians and instruments from Peru, Bolivia, Spain, France, China, Chile and the UK, and set their highly original music, alongside socially conscious lyrics and a super-tight rhythm section bringing awareness to Latin-American and worldwide cultures with their music.

Our Spice Trail Menu is predominantly plant based, with some ethically sourced meat options, as part of our conscious drive towards sustainability. Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.  

With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum, Vegan White Russian and Espresso Martini.

Jalo Nuñez Del Prado (Discos Fantastico)

For the past sixteen years, the work of music archaeologist and collector Jalo Núñez Del Prado has been focused on the exploration, curation and promotion of diverse musical expressions of the Latin American world. His trajectory dates back to 2006 when he founded Plastilina Records with the purpose of stimulating the music industry in Peru, always committed to the local music scene. Today, through Discos Fantástico, Ellas Rugen, Discos Horóscopo, among many other record labels that he leads, Jalo has rescued thousands of forgotten works and stories of the tropical spectrum such as cumbia, boogaloo, cha cha chá, descarga, boleros, even rock beat and other gems. His enthusiasm and impetus have led him to also become a musical selector of rarities from the Latin world of the 60's, 70's and 80's on stages in Berlin, London, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, among other cities around the world. He is currently based in Madrid.

Directed by and led by Wilfredo Avalos, Los Bravos de la K’umbia is band formed few years ago’ in London by a group of friends sharing their Peruvian heritage and a deep love for Cumbia!

Los Bravos de la K’umbia with their captivating sounds will take you to a musical journey from the earth of the Amazon Forest to the coastal city of Lima to the peaks of the Andes.

Jalo Nuñez Del Prado (Discos Fantastico, Pastilina Records)

For the past fifteen years, the work of music archaeologist and collector Jalo Núñez Del Prado has been focused on the exploration, curation and promotion of diverse musical expressions of the Latin American world. His trajectory dates back to 2006 when he founded Plastilina Records with the purpose of stimulating the music industry in Peru. Today, through Discos Fantástico, Ellas Rugen, Discos Horóscopo, among many other record labels that he leads, Jalo has rescued thousands of forgotten works and stories of the tropical spectrum such as cumbia, boogaloo, cha cha chá, descarga, boleros.

Paskal Rough & Tough (Cool Breeze)

Paskal is a music enthusiast and record collector of variegated music genres, with a main focus on the vintage sounds of the 60s and 70s from Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America. He also runs “Cool Breeze” is a music night focused on the vintage sounds of the American tropics travelling restlessly across the Caribbeans islands and the Latin American borders. A musical journey from the Peruvian Andes to the Colombian coasts, listening the pungent lyrics of the calypsonians from Panama and feeling the African inspired drums of the French Antilles, soaking the low frequencies of the Jamaican bass lines and dancing at the hypnotic melodies of the Mexican accordions... and beyond.

Ritmo del Barrio

Independent record label based in London, UK, Ritmo del Barrio has been focused on the exploration of vintage Latin American music with a special attention to Peruvian Cumbia, also known as Chicha.

Founded in 2021, RDB reissues feature Peruvian artists of the caliber of Cuarteto Universal, Los Shapis, Julio Mau y Los Imbatibles and Los Dexters de Uchiza; collaborating and working together with historical peruvian labels like Discos Horóscopo, Music Shop Peru’ and Sono Radio.

Our Spice Trail Menu is predominantly plant based, with some ethically sourced meat options, as part of our conscious drive towards sustainability. Our passion is for the cooking of the Middle East and southern Mediterranean so expect punchy flavours, warm spices and as always the best ingredients we can find to comfort and nourish the soul.  

With our drinks, we partner with breweries St Austell and Signature Brew for our lagers and IPAs and serve organic wine and prosecco which help international wildlife charity, Born Free. We design our spin on such drinks as Rum Punch, homemade Hackney Spiced Rum, Vegan White Russian and Espresso Martini.
