Collection times:
Wednesdays 2pm - 7pm, Thursdays 12pm - 7pm, Fridays 12pm - 6pm

Hackney’s favourite vegbox scheme, Growing Communities, is opening a new collection point at Grow, offering tasty, seasonal produce and convenient collection times, so there’s no need to wait in (or wait up) for your delivery.

Every week, GC sources the best, fresh, pesticide-free produce that’s in season – and pays farmers fairly for it. Prices start at £9 a week.

Richenda Wilson, Growing Communities says :

“The scheme helps you eat tastily, healthily and locally – some of our salad and other veg is grown on organic plots in Hackney parks. You’ll also be creating real, positive change at the same time – supporting farmers who are growing in non-polluting, planet-friendly ways; supporting low-carbon, low-waste distribution; training young people in organic food growing; and helping to campaign for better, fairer food and farming.

“We’re so pleased to be offering a new collection point at Grow as it’s a brilliant space with an ethos that really chimes with our values: putting people and planet above profit. And it’s our only pick-up point where you can enjoy a coffee or a pint on a waterside terrace when you come to collect your bags!”

Pete Bennett, Venue & Engagement Manager, Grow

“As an experiment in ethical and sustainable business, Grow is very pleased to be working with Growing Communities and becoming their collection point in Hackney Wick. To partner with Growing Communities fits perfectly with our social sustainability ethos - which includes paying our staff the London Living Wage, using eco electricity and providing an ongoing programme of cultural events for the community. Since 2014 we have championed local and independent producers and this is reflected in the products at our bar and in our kitchen. We are huge fans of Growing Communities and the chance to be an outlet for locally, independently and sustainably grown produce - and to have the potential to incorporate it within our menu is exciting.

The project is now live and was launched at our recent Future Fair makers market with a Human Fruit & Veg Machine on Sat 4 September - so sign up at the link and start ordering your nutritious, healthy and ethical veg boxes!’
